Can one’s faith affect public policy decisions? Are religious convictions carried over to the legislature or parliament? This study explores such questions in an effort to understand how religion and politics exist in society today.

The nature of parish ministry exposes clergy to frequent encounters with loss and grief. How do these loss experiences shape how one understands his/her role as professional pastor? Does ongoing exposure to loss change or challenge how a pastor understands his/her vocational call? This study seeks to explore how the experience of loss impacts and influences pastors’ sense of vocation, specifically how loss experiences affect pastors’ understanding of vocational calling and professional role identity.

In the United Church of Canada many congregations actively invite children to participate in Communion during worship times. Through this research, we will hear the experiences of children ages 8-14 when they participate in Communion. After hearing their experiences, some possible implications for the church and families will be considered. Including how children’s experiences relate to their faith as they grow and mature; and what this could mean for faith formation within the church.

The exclusive use of the historical-critical method as the exegetical tool for biblical interpretation is beginning to be questioned in academic communities. Is this displacement experienced at the parish level and would an introduction to a more literary approach to the text be fruitful?

How vocational caregivers experience the death, loss, and trauma of those with whom and to whom they minister 3:00pm

This study invites caregivers to tell the stories of these events from their perspectives. It also asks them to share their theological views on death and to share the spiritual practices which allows them to integrate these experiences into their own lives.
